What the system actually does
Whole-home treatment handles what the whole house needs. Reverse osmosis handles the few litres a day you actually drink. The Sureflo Preferred pushes water through four stages under the sink: a 5-micron sediment filter for grit and rust, a 5-micron acid-washed coconut-shell carbon block for chlorine, chloramines, taste and volatile chemicals, a high-purity thin-film composite membrane that rejects dissolved metals and chemicals, and an optional neutralizing stage for taste and pH.
Honest Water rates it to remove chlorine, THMs, PCBs, pesticides, volatile chemicals, TCEs, copper and lead among others, at 75 gallons a day into a 5-gallon composite pressure tank, delivered through a designer lead-free faucet. A quarter-inch line can feed the fridge and ice maker from the same tank.
The reason we prefer it is service. The filters twist and lock, so the yearly change takes minutes and no tools, and you can do it yourself between our visits. It carries Honest Water's 6-year warranty, consumables excluded. On hard or chlorinated water we protect the membrane with the whole-home stages ahead of it.
