What the system actually does
Dissolved iron, manganese and sulphur are invisible in the glass and only show themselves when they meet air, which is why the staining appears in the toilet tank and the smell at the tap. The Zentec Hybrid Air Capsulate does that oxidation on purpose. A pocket of air held in the top of the tank oxidizes the water as it passes, the Zentec Hybrid media bed traps the solids, and a scheduled backwash flushes them to drain and draws a fresh air charge.
Because nothing is injected, there is no chlorine or peroxide to buy and no feed pump to maintain. The Premium tier is rated by Honest Water for iron, sulphur and manganese up to 8 ppm each, at 7 to 20 gallons per minute depending on tank size. For wells with iron bacteria or tannins, Honest Water's ozone-enhanced Zentec versions add ozone injection, and we quote those when the test calls for it.
We test iron, manganese, sulphur and pH on your well, then size the filter. Guessing at iron is how filters end up undersized. This filter goes first in a well treatment train, after the pressure tank and a sediment stage, so the softener and any UV behind it see clean water. Where the pH is low we correct it ahead of the filter so the oxidation works.

What it will not do
Every system solves one set of problems. We would rather tell you the limits now than have you find them later.

- Bacteria, which need UV downstream
- Iron bacteria and heavy tannins, where the ozone-enhanced Zentec is the right version
- Municipal supply, which has no iron or sulphur to remove
