Our Story

Founded on a straight answer and proof

Honest Water grew out of hands-on water treatment work inside a York Region plumbing company. In that time we saw the same thing over and over: softeners sold without anyone checking they worked, iron filters on wells nobody had tested for pH, UV lamps behind dirty sleeves, and homeowners paying rent on equipment that never suited their water.

So we built a company that does water and only water. Every softener is sized from your town's real hardness number and read before and after install. Every well gets tested before anything is sold. And when the numbers say you do not need anything, we say that too.

We are based in Keswick and work about an hour out across York Region, Simcoe County and Durham Region: north to Barrie and Orillia, east to Beaverton and Brock, south to Whitby and Richmond Hill. Town water, wells and lake intakes. See all the towns we serve.

Water softeners for hard town water, read before and after install, and salt-free conditioners. In-depth well water testing on site and through an Ontario laboratory. Whole-home sediment and carbon filtration. Reverse osmosis and PFAS treatment at the kitchen tap. Iron, sulphur and tannin filters, UV disinfection and full well and lake water systems. Service and maintenance on any brand, and commercial systems for restaurants, salons, clinics and small buildings.

Questions about Honest Water

Why water only? +
Because doing one thing well beats doing ten things adequately. Water treatment is a field of its own, with its own testing, chemistry and equipment, and a company that also fixes drains and water heaters treats it as a sideline. We treat it as the whole job.
Are you related to a plumbing company? +
Honest Water grew out of years of water treatment work done inside a York Region plumbing business. We spun it out so that testing, filtration and treatment could get the focus they deserve. For a drain, a water heater or a leak, call our sister company, AquaTec Plumbing.
Do you sell a particular brand? +
We install Honest Water systems, built in Barrie, Ontario by one Canadian manufacturer, so parts, media and warranty support are one call away. Your hardness, your household and, on a well, your test decide which system and which stages, and nothing we recommend is tied to a commission.
What if my water is soft? +
Then we tell you not to buy a softener. A few supplies around here are soft, like Innisfil's Churchill system. Check your town's page for the official number.
